Intro:

Despite a certain dereglementari of the Western economies since the 1970s, the general trend is not towards the classical liberal model, the State continuing to play an important role as a provider of services. A considerable number of traditional social democracies of Western Europe have been turned into a substantial deregulated States, being paradigmatic case Sweden. An alternative model of capitalism, which has been called "regulatory capitalism," is offered by countries such as Japan or the United States in which the State plays a role as a supplier comparative low, but the economy is increasingly regulated. Also, the old opposition during the cold war between Communism and capitalism has disappeared today, the most important was the Communist countries, such as Russia and China, deplasandu in the direction of what has been called "state capitalism", a system in which the Government is trying to control the process of the market (both through regulations, as well as State companies or firms of the State's privileged) to political results that you prefer. Long-term direction in which the capitalist global system intreapta seems to depend on the ratio of power between three main strengths: general public, big corporations and the State. Transparent democracies tend to gravitate towards a dereglementata form of capitalism (what range from neoliberalism Swiss until substantial Swedish type States); countries where corporations have power and managed to capture the political process tend towards a form of regulatory capitalism; and countries where State power does not have a genuine competitor tend towards a form of state capitalism. Besides these relationships result in individual country level, the future of global capitalism depends on how different types of capitalism interact and how distortions introduced into part of the system propagates to the other countries.
