The Center of Institutional Analysis and Development Eleutheria (CADI), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), the Atlas Network, the Institute for Economic Studies Europe (IES-Europe) and the Society for Individual Freedom (SoLib) hosted the 2018 edition of the series of events reunited under the title: October School in Philosophy, Economics and Politics: The Minimal State as the Solution for Romania. The event took place in Bucharest between October 23-27 2018 at the Auditorium Room of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in the Palace of the Parliament, Str. Izvor 2-4 and at the Hotel Ibis Parliament Palace, in English and Romanian.

The theme and the content of our project (event, lectures, debates and later publication) were thought-provoking and were met with unprecedented interest and enthusiasm. Attendance at the event was high above our expectations and so were the actual involvement in the discussions and the circulation of our magazine supplement on the same theme (which can be downloaded from here http://cadi.ro/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/22-plus-385.pdf, in Romanian).

Our focus on highschool and undergraduate students brought a new audience which is just entering public life with their minds still clean of any wrong ideas or selfserving interests and motives. The participants were amazed by our more than 20 university level professors and speakers, international and Romanian, who delivered sensational presentations and engaged in lively debates on key free market topics.

The theme and content examined the root cause of our problems which is an overexpanded and evergrowing state, corrupt, inefficient and with only a limited if any sincere interest in the welfare of the people. Mostly inherited from earlier times, the current institutional arrangement will continue to degrade on us unless a change of trend will occur.
