What are the opportunities and challenges for the free market movement?

Matt Warner, Vice President at Atlas Network in Washington, D.C. will offer a review of the latest trends and developments in the free market movement, particularly the evolving role for think tanks in civil society.

Special emphasis will be given to questions related to think tank effectiveness in reducing the size of the state, strategies for movement-wide improvements in quality, challenges facing academics, activists and nonprofit leaders, and potential solutions.

Atlas Network seeks to support the free market movement by creating opportunities for likeminded individuals and organizations to learn from each other. It provides between $4 to $5 million in grants each year to support projects aimed at classical liberal education and market reform. Its training programs serve more than 1,000 think tank leaders each year on six continents and its award programs recognize outstanding achievements with more than $250,000 in prizes.

Matt has a background in political science and economics and has worked for several nonprofit, free market organizations with policy emphasis on energy and education. His work has been published in Cato Journal, Forbes.com, Washington Times, Budget & Tax News as well as many daily and weekly newspapers throughout the U.S.
