“Click on your career” is a project developed by The Center for Institutional Analysis and Development (CADI-Eleutheria Center) in partnership with The Romanian Institute of Training (Insitutul Român de Training).

The project is co-financed through the European Social Fund, the Sectorial Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007-2013, Priority Axis 2 – Linking lifelong learning and labor market, Major Intervention Area 2.1: Transition from school to active life. The project is implemented from April 2014 until October 2015.

The project involves 360 high school students in their junior and senior years, enrolled in the national education system, from Brașov and Mureș counties, who need support in making an informed decision regarding the continuity of their studies or the achievement of employment after graduation.

WHY CLICK ON YOUR CAREER?

The project helps you:

  • Discover your needs and abilities

  • Interact with people who have similar interests

  • Explore future options

  • Earn self-confidence

  • Find out helpful information from experienced people

  • Get in touch with local employers for a real job experience

WHAT’S THE GOAL?

This program aims to facilitate the transition of high school students from school to active life by preparing them, cognitively and emotionally, for the professional path that is most suitable to their needs and aspirations. In order to achieve this goal, 360 high school students from the central region of Romania benefit from career counselling services which help them make informed decisions concerning the continuity of their studies or the employment in the labor market.

OUR PLAN

By November 2015 we plan to:

  • Select and deliver career counselling to 360 high school students in their junior and senior years via 60 workshops. Each student participates in 2 career counselling workshops lasting 2 days each. The themes approached in the workshops range from self-knowledge, identifying strengths, setting objectives, tools for attaining objectives, developing a plan of action, resuming writing techniques and methods for seeking a job.

  • Develop a web platform to further support the high school students through online counselling and to provide access to useful and attractive information about careers and educational programs. The platform hosts volunteering prospects, internship and job opportunities, study programs and scholarship information, as well as short videos with professionals from different domains.

  • Conduct 1200 monitoring sessions for the 360 junior and senior year high school students who take part in the online counselling sessions. Each student will be able to develop an individual plan of action on the web platform with the help of his/ her career counsellor.

  • Publish on the web platform 30 articles about study programs and career domains chosen by the students.

  • Interview professionals of student-preferred career domains and upload 15 short videos on the web platform.

  • Organize study visits with employers, which aim to include at least 180 of the 360 high school students, in order to learn more about the jobs they are interested in.
