Entrepreneurship Start-UP (ID 150369) is a multiregional, rural and urban project, realized in partnership with The Center for Institutional Analysis and Development “Eleutheria” (CADI-Eleutheria Center), Romanian-American University (RAU), “Constantin Brâncuși University from Târgu Jiu (CBU) and Romania Metodo Studies Counselling Trading company ( S.C Metodo Studii Consultanță România- MSCR), in the București-Ilfov and South-West Oltenia (București, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți, Olt, Vâlcea) regions. The project is financed by the European Social Fund, the Sectorial Operational Programme Human Resources Development through the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly Persons and AMPOSDRU and it has been carried out between February 9 – December 8, 2015.

Specific objectives of the project:


  • 400 trainees, divided proportionally between the regions in which the project will be implemented; they will be trained for starting their own business (at least 200 students, aged between 18-25 and at least 200 women).

  • 40 new business started (at least 2 in each county, in which the project will be implemented); the entrepreneurs benefit from a financial aid in value of minimum 25,000 each, following a business plans’ competition, in the identified priority industrial sectors according to the National Strategy for Competitiveness 2014-2020: tourism and ecotourism, textile and leather products, wood and wood products, furniture, creative industries, automotive industry and components, communication and information technology, processing food, beverages, health and pharmaceuticals, energy and environment management, bioeconomy (agriculture, silviculture, fishing and aquaculture), biopharmaceuticals and biotechnologies, following immediately after the end of the training.

  • Creating at least 80 new work places, following the starting of new businesses in the region where the project is implemented: București-Ilfov and South-West Oltenia (București, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți, Olt, Vâlcea counties)

  • Reaching our objectives contribute directly to the promotion of the managerial culture and entrepreneurship as viable jobs in Romania

  • Through the information and counselling services, the beneficiaries of the project gain competences and abilities in the entrepreneurial-managerial domains, competences and abilities that can be used for putting into practice their own business ideas, according to the best practices that exist at European level.

  • The project contribute to the improving of the capacity of individuals’ integration in the labour market, including persons coming from vulnerable groups, through supporting the development of the competences and abilities necessary in order to be integrated in the labour market.

Carrying out the project

The training courses are carried out in April and are presented at the same time in both regions where the project is implemented: București-Ilfov and South-West Oltenia (Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți, Olt, Vâlcea counties).

The 400 trainees are divided in 16 groups formed of maximum 25 participants, each course lasting 5 days. During the training courses, the participants benefit from free accomodation and meals (where it is needed), and also of a subvention in value of RON 300, given at the end of the courses.

The participants pass all the courses will benefit from a free entrepreneurial and legal counselling for starting their own businesses and they have the opportunity to register in a business plan competition, in which the best 40 business plans, selected by a jury formed of well-known specialists, benefit from a financial aid in value of minimum 25,000 each, thus the participants being able to put into practice their business plans.
