In 2013, CADI hosted the “To save money or to not save money? Can the austerity measures alone save the Europe?” conference, together with Center for European Studies Bucharest and Austrian Economics Center Vienna. The conference has raised the problem of austerity and regulation in Europe, debating the efficiency of the interventionist measures. The event is part of a set of conferences that are organized every year, starting with the year 2008, for discussing current economic issues and possible solutions in the Europe and Caucasus area. Each year, among the guests, there are well-known international speakers, economists, political leaders, members of think-tanks that have as goals the analysis of the governmental economic politics and the exchange of views regarding the market economy and relevant policies. The Bucharest edition was organized in partnership with CADI-Eleutheria on 18th May 2013 and had among the guests: Lorenzo Montanari, Americans for Tax Reform; Dan Mitchell, Cato Institute, Gia Jandieri, New Economics School from Georgia; Valentin Ionescu, Ordoliberal Institute.
