Link to your first job is a project initiated by the The Center for Institutional Analysis and Development (CADI-Eleutheria Center) in partnership with The Romanian Institute of Training (Insitutul Român de Training) and co-financed through the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development.
Objectives, Beneficiaries and Activities
The project aims to increase the chances of finding employment for 360 high school students in the Southeastern Romania region. It addresses junior and senior year high school students from the Galati and Vrancea Counties.
The project comes with the following activities:
-
Group counselling workshops
Each student takes part in 2 group counselling workshops lasting 4 days in total. Students learn that no problem goes unsolved, while gaining self-confidence and positive motivation to search, together with their peers, for answers to shared questions. They embark on a journey of self-knowledge, trying to find their strengths and learning how to make best use of them in order to get the job they wish for. Topics such as personal development, motivation, how to find a job, how to draft a resume (CV) are tackled during the workshops.
-
Webinars
As part of the project, there are 16 webinars for students to learn more about how to prepare a university application, how to manage their time and money, what rights they have as employees, critical questions to ask during an interview, etc.
-
Individual counselling and the personal career plan
The students get the counsellors’ support, either online or by phone, in their making of a personal plan career.
-
Study visits
Practical experience before graduation is often crucial for the first job. A day spent at a prospective workplace may help you find out what a job, in a particular domain, really looks like. It is for this reason that study visits are being made with the local employers, so that high school students can learn, in real time, how the job they want is being undertaken on a daily basis.
-
Online platform: counselling and informing
The online platform gives the students the possibility to work on their individual career plans and check their personal progress.
What is more, throughout the entire project, the platform will help them keep in touch with the current volunteering prospects, internships, jobs, scholarships, or study programs. They will also have access to short videos with employers containing sound advice to help them find their own career path.
What we aim for?
-
360 junior and senior year high school students to benefit from group counselling and to create individual plans of action with the help of career counsellors;
-
Developing a web platform as an online, personalized counselling instrument to deliver information about universities and career domains;
-
300 junior and senior year high school students to benefit from counselling sessions and online monitoring;
-
Hosting 16 webinars on the platform
-
Organizing study visits taking place at the employers, targeting 180 participants to attend.
