Started in March 2011, the project is focusing on increasing inclusion and integration of the Roma minority by
sustainable economic development and the creation of new jobs.
The goals of the project:
– Collect data about the potential of the social economy
– Increase awareness regarding social inclusion among the Roma communities in Romania
– Engage a team of experts for determining the feasibility of the social economy within the Roma communities
– Present effective recommendations regarding the benefits of the social economy and of the advantages of developing social initiatives in Roma communities
– Form partnerships and conclude cooperative agreements between pro t and non-pro t companies to develop the social economy
– Provide trainings of social economy among members of Roma communities and representatives of institutions and organizations involved in social sector
– Create structures of social economy with designated experts and representatives of institutions and organizations involved in the social sector targeted by the project.
The main activities of the project are:
1. 1.Draft recommendations regarding the socio-economic context in Roma communities
1.1. The analysis of the present situation
1.2. A set of practical guidelines.
2. Identify the most efficient methods of social intervention in Roma communities
2.1 Identify the ideas of social initiatives for target groups
2.2. Establish social undertakings.
3. Promote the social economy within Roma communities
3.1 Advocacy campaign in favor of the social economy within the target group
3.2 Organize a closure conference where the results and the recommendations for the project are
disseminated.
